UPDATE: Yeah, P, the link would help, wouldn't it? Thanks!
I got a 30 out of 58 on Rolling Stone's "Almost-Impossible Rock & Roll Quiz." But even that was lucky. This quiz must have been the inspiration for the Queens of the Stone Age ditty No One Knows.
I won't reveal the answers, but I'll tell you how I did, question-by-question:
1. X - should've known
2. X - no idea
3. Semi-educated guess
4. X - no idea
5. Knew it
6. X - should've known
7. Lucky guess (all four parts)
8. Educated guess
9. X - maybe should've known
10. X - 50-50

I got a 43, but many, many of them were guesses.
I got a 41. Wish I had time to make my own answer key post. Yours was as fun as the test itself.
Hey - Beau - recheck your score. I was suspicious that I could beat you by 11 points on a music quiz. So I took the quiz after I knew the answers. I still forgot 9, but it gave me a 58.
I think that it counts the four and five-parters as that many points, eg I got 5 points for the Steven Seagal question (both times, heh).
In my original quiz, I missed 27 but got a 41, not a 31 as I would have expected.
Weird.
What's weirder is that I'm taking this much time figuring out the scoring system of an online quiz.
You know, you may be right on that. I thought my score was 38 or 39, but I quickly forgot the number and took a while to post my answer key. I just went back and counted, which is how I came up with 30.
So maybe my score was closer to yours.
But if you got a 41, you still beat me! I'll have to challenge you to a quiz on Yes keyboardists or something.
I got 35. Oy. I suck
39, which isn't bad, considering I know next to nothing about any music pre-disco. (I rocked the 80's.)
And frankly, I'm just happy I guessed the correct order of the Marley children.
Here's a partial breakdown:
Solid "Knew it": 6, 9, 12, 18, 29, 34, 40 ("1984", thanks Latin class!), 41, 42, 43, 51, 54, 55, 58.
Pretty sure I "Knew it": 3, 5, 8, 15, 16, 38, 57
Reasoned it out/educated guess": 14, 26, 35, 36, 37, 48
Guessed right: 7, 10, 13, 19, 31, 32, 46
Guessed wrong: 1, 2, 4, 11, 17, 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 30, 33, 39, 44, 45, 47, 50, 52, 53, 56
WTF: 27
I forget - enough already, you've got patients waiting (D'Oh!): 22, 23, 49
Of note, as I went through the quiz again today to see the questions one last time, I scored myself even though I did not answer anything. I got a 5, and it asked me what I had been doing all these years - reading Cat Fancy?!
Yeah, well at least I'm not the one giving away 5 free points and making a mockery of the academic process, so there!
Jason sent me the link to this, and I took it right away, I got a 46.
I am horrified at my level of dorkness.
Guessed wrong: 1, 2, 4, 11, 17, 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 30, 33, 39, 44, 45, 47, 50, 52, 53, 56
Dude, everyone should get #44. Citizen Dick, man!
"He was ably backed by Stone and Jeff and drummer Eddie Vedder."
"A compliment for us is a compliment for you!"
43...
